| Do you know anyone who is over weight? Do you know anyone who actually wants to lose that extra weight? Studies show that every extra 2" around the middle can increase you risk of early death by up to 17%. Wow! A lot of us Mennonites are going to die early. Obesity has reached epic proportions here it the States and in other parts of the world. A recent study shows 8 out of 10 adults are overweight and they assume that in 40 years 100% of America will be overweight. I disagree. That is based on a trend and its the way the trend is going, BUT trends don't always continue. There WILL be people who are as thin as ever no matter what the stats say. I personally am going to help as many people as possible lose that extra weight. My personal goal is "6 pack" abs by May. Anyone want to join me?

| "Turn your slave work into worship. Make it a gift to God... I had a job once that I resented as bitterly as slavery. I worked in a bakery. It was actually a good job, well paying, good hours. pleasant staff, fine working conditions. But I had lost sight of all that. I had become a university student, and my vision for who I wanted to be sat increasingly out of kilter with my work there. I had a self-image that the bakery stifled. At the time, I would have told you I wasn't "called" to this kind of work. I would have told you I was stuck. Looking back, I can see I was merely stuck-up. At any rate, my work became a heavy, dreary business, a yoke of slavery. Then I read (Colossians 3:23) and God spoke. The spirit convicted. I made a resolve before God that I would offer my work to Him. My work became worship. I sliced and bagged bread, arranged frozen croissant dough on char-darkened pans... Before, I'd done all this with sullen weariness. But now I gave it all to God. I did it with a keen sense that God Himself watched. The work was for Him. He inspected, applauded or reprimanded it, held it in His hands. This is what happened: I went from a sour, grudging worker to a joyful, grateful one. The manager notice, with thankfulness. The other employees noticed, and my joy in the work began to leaven their attitudes. But what mattered most: My Father in heaven noticed, and that increased my joy even more." -Mark Buchanan-Your God is Too Safe
